Ruth Boydell first sailed into adventure at 17 years of age, by embarking on a sailboat voyage halfway around the world. She discovered her community, followed her heart to eventually get her own boat and voyage halfway round the globe once more.
She continues the adventure in Newcastle, first teaching navigation, and now in her 60s helping others plan and navigate their ends-of-life as a doula, Death Cafe host and Threshold singer.
She found her spirit, her strengths and followed her dreams. But it was not all plain sailing. Heavy weather, health challenges, loneliness, and relationship and life lessons were all part of the journey.
